How I got started in masonry
I got into masonry fixing block walls and patching brick for neighbors in Hesperia on weekends. The calls kept coming, so in 2017 I got licensed and made it my full-time work. I learned most of what I know on the job, one wall at a time.
Today D&L Hesperia Concrete and Masonry is best known for block walls and for brick that's repointed the right way, with the worn mortar cut out and fresh mortar packed in its place. Most of our calls come from homeowners here and in the cities around us who want a straight answer and someone who shows up. I care most about the parts of a job you can't see, like what's under a wall and what's in the joints. I come out to look at your job and write the estimate myself. Then I'm on site with our crew while the work gets done, so nothing you told me gets lost along the way.
A smaller fix when that's all you need
If a smaller repair will do the job, we'll tell you, even when that means a smaller bill. You shouldn't pay for a rebuild your wall doesn't need.
An estimate that shows the hidden work
Your estimate spells out the work behind the finish, like the footing under a wall or how the joints get prepped. That way you can see what you're paying for and compare bids fairly.
Permits checked before we start
Before work starts, we check with the city or county building office that covers your address. In Hesperia, the city's Building & Safety Division lists block walls over 3 feet high above the ground around them as needing a permit, and the permit has to be issued before work begins, so when one's needed we apply for it as your licensed contractor.
